When I watch any of the house change programmes like the buying under auction or escap to the country type shows, I am intrigued by visits to Kent. There seems to be this very strong connection with London, lots of families used to ravel from the east end each summer to do hop picking. A popular ‘holiday’ away from the grime and poverty now doubt. Whimsical pictures of the old white painted and clapboarded oast houses and field upon field of hope trees swaying in the gentle sunny breeze. Must have seemed like heaven on earth for them all. Kent is now much quieter than it used to be. It is still the gateway out of the Country to France by Ferry and the international euro rail terminal is in Ashford or just outside. Kent also has hundreds of historic connections with castles and military encampments. So busines information will be facinating stuff!
